Desirable residential streets, plenty of open space, a choice schools and convenient transport make Wandsworth a popular area for property pursuers. The average visitor wouldn’t know this attractive area’s less than glamorous past. All the remnants of its industrial past have been swept clean in favour of pretty riverside walkways and residential spaces that make happy homes for young couples and families alike. Wandsworth is also sprinkled in cinema fame as scenes of Stanley Kubrick’s A ClockWork Orange were filmed here.

The arrival of the railways saw Wandsworth become a hub of industrialisation. The area provided both employment and residential homes as well as swift transportation to central London. The area is filled with a range of Victorian properties, from cottages and terraced houses to large family homes with plenty of garden space. The area underwent more transformation in the 1950’s and 1960’s, with a huge rebuilding scheme. Now, Wandsworth is an area of two halves: the old Victorian properties and the new development.

The area has a wealth of local amenities like independent shops and restaurants. It is also home to the Southside Shopping Centre, which houses high street shops and a Cineworld, restaurants and a Nuffield Health Gym. There are also three other gyms to choose from: a Wandle Recreation Centre and a PureGym and a Virgin Active Centre to boot. Waitrose and Sainsbury’s supermarkets are across the road from the Southside Shopping centre too.

Wandsworth Common is a major pull for home-hunters. With its large open space and wildlife centre, it is the much-loved centre of the community. It is also home to nature trails, cricket grounds and the Wandsworth Common Tennis & Bowl Centre. There is also a small high street to the South of the common with local amenities and one of Southwest London's most loved award winning restaurants, Chez Bruce.
