Located in Fulham, Parsons Green is one of the most desirable residential locations London has on offer. It is home to a growing number of young professionals, drawn in by the leafy streets and big green as well as the quick commute into central London and the City (only 33 minutes). Young families are also fans of the area and with large Victorian terraced houses and Edwardian villas, often with off-street parking, why wouldn’t they be.

Parsons Green first welcomed six residents in 1391. It was mainly used by wealthy Londoners looking to escape the City and relax by the Green. Now, it is still mainly a residential area with 10,110 residents and the pace of life is still relaxed. Thanks to the plethora of both house-hold names and independent shops, Parsons Green is well-stocked with boutiques and pubs. Local pub Aragon House had some very noteworthy locals who may have dropped for a drink: Katherine of Aragon lived in Parsons Green before she married Henry VIII. Author of Clarissa and Pamela, Samuel Richardson also lived in this area.

It's home to some of Fulham's most sought after and desirable properties, many located in the Peterborough Estate, a collection of about 1,000 large red brick properties built by Jimmy Nichols on the former site of Peterborough House, where Lord Mordaunt entertained the literati of the day until its demolition in 1900. The houses are referred to as 'Lion Houses' because of the lion statues that adorn their parapets and along with the houses close to Hurlingham Park and Bishops Park are some of the largest Fulham has to offer.

Despite being a genteel village-like area, Parsons Green is by no means sleepy. It is not far from Shepherd’s Bush and Kensington, where there are plenty of pubs and high-end restaurants as well as The Bush Theatre. More locally, Claude’s Kitchen (which can be found nestled underneath the Amuse Bouche champagne bar) is unmissable. Our local expert agent James recommends it, along with Vicino, a fantastic and authentic Italian restaurant.
